Liberation's Edge
[UNDER DEVELOPMENT]
In this 2D platformer, you play as a young boy born with hidden exceptional abilities, kept secret by his family to avoid the oppressive regime's attention. When the regime brutally murders his family, he is driven by a sense of purpose to develop his powers and ultimately overthrow the regime.
Gameplay Mechanics
- Combat System: Utilize melee attacks, Force powers, shooting, and sword techniques in fast-paced, responsive combat.
- Skill Tree: Customize your ability stack, through three branches: natural powers, combat abilities, and base stats. Unlock new skills and tailor your playstyle.
- Platforming Mechanics: Navigate challenging levels with precision and timing, integrating combat abilities to overcome obstacles and enemies.
How to play:
- 'a'/'d' or left/right key to move
- space bar to jump and double jump
- 'w'/'s' to select up or down weapon (melee, sword, gun)
- right mouse button to defend (only when using sword, also if you defend just moments before enemy attack, you can parry)
- left mouse button to attack (punch, stab, shoot)
- 'q' key to Force pull enemies
- 'e' key to Force push enemies
- 'f' key to freeze enemies for a short period of time
- 'm' key to show/hide skill tree
- 'alt' key to roll, (avoids enemy attack
To add:
- Main screen
- Setting difficulty
- Wall dragging
- Bullet deflection
- Combat sounds
- Unlocking skill sounds
- Saving progress

To fix:
- while on controller, when on skill tree, should be able to select skills
- leaving pause menu while also having the skill tree open resumes game
- skill tree can be opened while on pause menu
- on itch.io the 'quit' breaks the game obviously
